HOLLAWho? Meet Alysa!

Hollaback! Des Moines has a new team member! Alysa Mozak is coming to us from Drake University, where she currently serves as the Sexual Violence Response Coordinator and Healthy Relationship Promoter. (Is that not the coolest title ever?)

Alysa has spent seven years in her professional career as a victim advocate and rape prevention educator and has done extensive work developing and facilitating curricula and programming for young women (and men) on gender and anti-violence issues. Her passion lies in teaching but she also enjoys the art of activism and goes by the motto of “The Personal is Political” in everything she does to better victim services.

Although those who know her well say she never stops being an advocate for women’s issues, Alysa does enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, singing along to women’s indie rock bands, shoe shopping and biking.
